Rationale and Feedback
For this campaign- I created a rationale to describe my ideas for my documentary. I included some research that I conducted on the client, the campaign and the target audience for this campaign- which I followed with my ideas- hoping to visualize to a small focus group what my aims were for the product I will be making. I then delivered the pitch to a small focus group- where I explained my ideas in a greater depth than I had written on the rationale presentation.
After I had presented my rationale to a focus group, I created a google form to obtain some feedback about my ideas. When I asked the focus group if they understood who the client and the target audience were. This meant that the target audience understood that the documentary was going to be aimed at them- and they understood that I was making the documentary for the BBC as a whole.
Also, when I asked if the focus group if they understood my ideas for the documentary- the majority stated that they did. This meant that my ideas were explained well enough to the focus group so that they knew what my aim for the documentary was.
My final question to receive feedback was if the focus group would change anything about my ideas. Upon reviewing the feedback, it seems that the big thing that the focus group would change would be the fact that I only have two types of filming- and that I should include more visuals in my documentary rather than just interview shots and footage of people using technology. I will take this feedback into account when I start creating my documentary.
