Pre-Production: Logistic Aspects (Contributor Release, Personnel List, Resource List, Shooting Schedule)

After completing location scouting and release forms I filled out a personnel list. I filled this out so that I knew who would be (or would hopefully be) in my product and also a form of contact so that I would be able to contact them throughout the production if I needed to.

After completing the personnel list I completed contributor release forms. These are required to ensure that I have the actors permission to film them and use the footage in the final product- as without their permission I would not be able to have them be in the documentary and would have had to find someone else- or shorten the documentary to exclude their scenes.

I also had to complete a resource list. This was so I knew what resources and equipment I would need to film the documentary. I also needed to state where I would get these resources from and if I had obtained them yet- which in some cases I will be obtaining them on the day of filming.

To ensure that I and the crew would know when I planned to film each scene- I created a shooting schedule that laid out the dates that each scene would be shot. This is important so that we can at least attempt to follow a planned out schedule for each scene. I also created an alternative shooting schedule- as a backup so that if a scene were not able to be filmed that day I would be able to film it another day and still stick to a planned timing.
